Coronavirus COVID-19 Public Statement – 17th March 2020
Following the UK and Scottish Governments announcement on the evening of Monday 16th March 2020 to enhance measures to fight the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been taken to close Gardyne Theatre for the foreseeable future. This decision was taken on the morning of Tuesday 17th 2020 and is effective immediately.
The decision was taken as a result of a national emergency, out with the reasonable control of Gardyne Theatre and in the best interests of our customers, audiences, staff and partners.
We will be in contact with all customers who have a contract with us over the next few days however we are unclear at this stage how long the closure and suspension of activities will last. We will continue to follow Government advice as it is issued.
Customers who have made bookings for a performance will be notified of the closure and provided with information on the process for refunds or exchanges by the booking agent.
We recognise this is an incredibly worrying time for all however we look forward to welcoming all customers back to Gardyne Theatre at the earliest opportunity.

Gardyne Theatre Ltd
The theatre reopened in 2012 following an extensive refurbishment, and has quickly become a favourite with theatre-goers throughout Tayside and Fife, for a wide range of drama, comedy, musical theatre, live music, dance, and community productions.
Situated within the Gardyne Campus of Dundee and Angus College, between Dundee city centre and Broughty Ferry, the theatre has comfortable seating, great sight lines, ample free parking and an airy open foyer to enjoy a drink before the show ,in all, a unique theatre experience in the area.
The theatre is available for hire, as is The Atrium a smaller performance area more suited to acoustic and cabaret shows.
Also within the theatre complex, the Gardyne Studio is an acoustically designed high specification recording facility capable of many applications, offering a wide range of professional services to the music, theatre and media industries. The studio also facilitates full audio and video connectivity to the performance theatre and can provide multi camera live online streaming.
The theatre is located at the heart of Dundee and Angus College’s campus at Gardyne Road. Car parking is free and 400 spaces are available.
The car park is situated to the west of the main building, adjacent to the main entrance.
An additional overflow carpark with 200 spaces for theatre patrons is located to the east of the building should this be required.
The College and the Gardyne Theatre wish to be considerate to our neighbours. Please do not park on Gardyne Road or on any of the access roads within the campus. The Eastern car park should not normally be used by theatre patrons. Please follw the signs to the main west car park.
Secure cycle parking is located at the front entrance. The Gardyne Campus can be accessed via Craigie Drive/Strathern Road which links with the Green circular cycle route at Dundee Road.
Access for cycles is also available from the Arbroath Road cycle path to the north.
Gardyne Campus is approximately 3 miles east of Dundee Railway Station.
Gardyne Campus is easily accessible by bus: Buses run along Craigie Drive/Strathern Road to/from Ninewells Hospital/Broughty Ferry (National Express Dundee number 5 and Stagecoach numbers 73/73A).

The Gardyne Theatre is fully accessible with ramped access from the main car park to the front door and box office. A dedicated drop-off point for disabled patrons is located adjacent to the main ramp. A further 18 reserved disabled parking spaces are available.
